the college girls guide to: finals week
Finals are right around the corner, and they can bring a lot of unnecessary stress to the end of the yar, so today we’re gonna talk about how to reduce stress during finals week!
🩷 PLAN OUT YOUR WEEK!
You can’t have a stress-free finals week if you’re worried about last minute due dates and exam dates.
Write out the days of all of your assignments, projects and exams along with anything you need to complete them.
🧡 SCHEDULE YOUR STUDY TIME!
If you’re anything like me, you only study when you’re motivated. And during finals week, the motivation is nonexistent, so blocking out times when you HAVE to study is a must!
They don’t have to be huge chunks of time but give yourself enough time to accomplish everything on your to-do list.
🩷 GIVE YOURSELF STUDY BREAKS!
You can’t study for hours on end and expect to retain all of the information. You have to take breaks.
Give yourself 10 minutes and do absolutely anything but look at your work. Go for a walk, go get a snack, scroll through Insta, just get away from the notes!!
Just make sure that break eventually ends, and you get back to studying at some point 😉
🧡 GET SOME SLEEP!
There’s no way you’ll do well on your exams if you’re running on an hour of sleep and some caffeine.
Sleep is so important, especially during finals week. It can be easy to pull all nighters trying to cram for the next exam but try to avoid that.
You cannot function at your best if you’re walking around campus like a zombie.
So, get your sleep and know that your notes will still be there when you wake up.
🩷 PRIORITIZE YOUR STUDYING!
Don’t spend all week studying for your last exam and flunk all the ones before it.
If you have an exam earlier in the week, study for that first and then work on the other subjects.
Also, don’t try to study one subject all day long. Break it up and study a little bit for each exam, that way your brain can get a break.
🧡 REMEMBER YOUR GRADES DON’T DEFINE YOU!
I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again. YOUR GRADES DON’T DEFINE YOU!!!
Now obviously, try your best to get good grades, but if you do badly on one exam, don’t let it ruin your whole week.
In 5 years, the grade you made on your English 111 final won’t matter. So don’t dwell on it.
Focus on the things you can control, like the rest of your finals 🙃
🩷 KNOW THAT YOU HAVE DONE ENOUGH!
At the end of the day, know that you have prepared yourself to the best of your abilities and whatever happens, happens.
You are enough regardless of what your grades are.
I hope you all have a great finals week!! Study hard and take comfort in the fact that it’s almost over.
Till next time,
Belle💗
