the college girls guide to: new years resolutions

 Welcome back!! 

The new year is upon us and every year we all make tons of unrealistic resolutions that we give up on about a month into the new year. So today I’m gonna give you some practical resolutions to make 2024 the best year yet! 


🧡 DRINK MORE WATER! 


This is something we all need to do and it’s super easy. If you struggle drinking water, start small. Replace one drink a day with water and go from there. Or if you really want to start big, cut out soda or tea completely and only drink water. I did that a few years ago and I haven’t looked back. 


Even if you have to add flavor to your water, it’s better than no water at all. 


🩷 STICK TO A ROUTINE! 


This doesn’t have to be a grand routine but start with a morning or night routine that you consistently do.


Whether this is making your bed before you start the day or spending less time on your phone before bed. Find one small area of your day that you can incorporate something consistent. 


From there you can add steps and eventually have a full day routine if that’s something you enjoy. 


🧡 BE MORE POSITIVE/PRACTICE GRATITUDE ! 


This one might be challenging for some people lol. But take a moment throughout your day to think of something you're thankful for or happy about. (I talked more about this in a previous post!) 


Change your outlook on things, when something doesn’t go your way, instead of being mad think about the things that did go your way. 


Try to switch your mindset from glass half empty to glass half full and see how much happier you are! 


🩷 SPEND LESS TIME ON YOUR PHONE! 


This is something a lot of us are gonna struggle with. I know I spend WAYYYY too much time on my phone.  


The easiest way to get off your phone is to replace that time with another activity. This could be reading a book, spending time with friends, going on a walk, whatever it may be make it fun! 


We tend to go on our phones out of boredom, so you have to replace it with something interesting, so you’ll actually stick to it. 


These are just a few resolutions to add to your list but remember it’s better to have a small list of attainable goals than a huge list of things you’ll never be able to do.
