Welcome back!

Today we’re going to talk about one of my favorite things about college... friends!  

Before I came to college, I was a little anxious about making friends. I lived 3 hours away from campus and I didn’t know anyone from my high school that was going here. I was absolutely terrified that I wouldn’t meet anyone and would spend the next 4 tears alone. 


I’m so glad I was wrong about that.  


Making friends was actually pretty easy and I’m so thankful for that. 


One of the biggest things to remember is that everyone around you is trying to make friends. All the freshmen on your hall are looking for friends just like you, so even though it might be scary, go up to one of them and just start a conversation. You never know where it could lead you! 


Another thing I would recommend is joining a club or a team. I joined the dance team my freshman year and that’s where I met my best friend. We had to move in early, so by the time classes started, I already had some girls that I could hang out with.  


I got very lucky when it came to my roommate situation. The girls I lived with my freshmen year are still some of my best friends. Even though I don’t live with them anymore, we still hang out all the time. 


So, I encourage you to try to get to know the people you live with, even if it seems scary, because then they will introduce you to people and before you know it you have the best friends you could ask for! 


It’s also important to remember that not everyone you hang out with is going to be your friend forever. It’s okay to grow apart from people and make friends outside of your core group. Just because you found your people doesn’t mean you should stop talking to people and getting to know them.  


Above all else, just remember to be yourself and the right people will find you!

Finals are right around the corner, and they can bring a lot of unnecessary stress to the end of the yar, so today we’re gonna talk about how to reduce stress during finals week!   🩷 PLAN OUT YOUR WEEK!   You can’t have a stress-free finals wee k if y ou’re worried about last minute due dates and exam dates.   Write out the days of all of your assignments, projects and exams along with anything you need to complete them.   🧡 SCHEDULE YOUR STUDY TIME!   If you’re anything like me, you only study when you’re motivated. And during finals week, the motivation is nonexistent, so blocking out times when you HAVE to study is a must !   They don’t have to be huge chunks of time but give yourself enough time to accomplish everything on your to-do list.   🩷 GIVE YOURSELF STUDY BREAKS!   You can’t study for hours on end and expect to retain all of the information.   Hi everyone!!   Welcome to A College Girls Guide, I’m Belle and I’m super excited you’re here.   For my first post, I wanted to give a little background of myself and my goals for this blog.   I’m currently a junior and a communications major at Charleston Southern University , I am 20 years old, and I am a first-generation college student!
